Ceremony App Privacy Policy
Last updated 13 September 2026
Ceremony is a movement and wellbeing app for iPhone and Android, made on Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i and provided by Harmonie-Hernandez LLC (“we” or “us”). This policy explains what the app collects, what it does not, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived.
The short version. Ceremony has no account and no server. Almost everything it knows about you is stored on your own phone and never sent anywhere. The one exception is your email address, which the app asks for before it opens.
What this policy covers, and what it does not
This policy covers the Ceremony mobile app only: the thing you install on a phone to follow practices, build sessions and keep a streak.
It does not cover the rest of harmonie-hernandez.com. Buying haircare from the online shop is a separate matter with separate handling, including the cookies and personalised advertising that come with running a shop, and it has its own store privacy policy. Nothing described there applies to the app: the app has no cookies, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
The store policy also describes an internal publishing tool used by the Harmonie Hernandez team to post to TikTok. That is staff software and is unrelated to this app, despite the similar name. If you are reading this because you installed something on your phone, this is the right document.
What leaves your phone
Your email address
The app asks for your email address before it opens. That address is sent to Klaviyo, our email provider, and added to our mailing list. That is the only thing the app transmits about you.
We send new practices and occasional notes about what Harmonie is working on, usually once a week and sometimes less. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list. The app keeps working after you unsubscribe.
Klaviyo processes this on our behalf and does not sell it. Their privacy policy is at klaviyo.com/legal/privacy.
Your subscription, if you buy one
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see or store your card details. To check whether a subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier and the purchase record from the app store. It does not receive your name, your email or anything you have entered in the app. RevenueCat’s privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
What stays on your phone
All of the following is stored only in the app’s own storage on your device. None of it is uploaded, backed up by us, or visible to us. We could not retrieve it if you asked.
- Your first name, if you give one. It is used to say hello on the home screen and nowhere else, and it is deliberately not sent with your email.
- What you are working on, how often you train, and where you are starting from.
- Your weight, height, age and sex, if you enter them. These are used to work out energy and protein numbers on your device.
- Progress photos. These stay in your camera roll and in the app’s list of file references. No copy is uploaded and no thumbnail is sent anywhere. If you ever send one to Harmonie, that is you choosing to send it, by whatever means you choose.
- Completed sessions, streaks, your step target, reminder times and appearance settings.
Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no copy elsewhere.
Health and fitness data
On Android, Ceremony can read from Health Connect if you grant permission. It reads four things: steps, heart rate, active calories burned, and total calories burned.
- It is only ever read, never written. Ceremony does not write anything into Health Connect and does not change your existing records.
- It stays on the device. Health data is read, shown to you, and used to calculate the figures on the finished screen and the step ring. It is not transmitted anywhere, not stored on any server, and not shared with any third party. It is not used for advertising and it is never sold.
- It is optional. The app works without it; you simply do not see step counts or heart rate.
- You can withdraw it at any time in Health Connect’s own settings, under app permissions. Revoking it stops all reading immediately.
- Ceremony reads only for the periods it needs: the length of a session, and recent days for the step chart.
On iPhone, Ceremony does not currently read health data at all.
What Ceremony does not do
- No analytics. There is no analytics or crash-reporting library in the app, so no usage data is collected.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites.
- No push notifications from a server. Reminders are scheduled on your own device, so no device token is registered anywhere.
- No selling or sharing of personal information, in any sense, including under the CCPA.
- No location, no contacts, no microphone.
Children
Ceremony is not intended for children. The app does not accept an age under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Because almost nothing leaves your phone, most of your data is already entirely under your control: delete the app and it is gone.
For your email address, you may at any time:
- Unsubscribe, using the link at the bottom of any email.
- Ask us what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the CCPA. Where the GDPR applies, our lawful basis for sending marketing email is your consent, given when you signed up and withdrawable at any time. We do not sell personal information and we do not process it for automated decision-making.
Where your information is handled
We are based in the United States, and Klaviyo and RevenueCat process data in the United States. If you are outside the United States, the email address you give us is transferred there.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, say so in the app or by email. Continuing to use Ceremony after a change means you accept the updated policy.
